Outward Bound is an educational methodology to inspire character development and leadership, helping individuals realize their human potential to become compassionate and courageous citizens. The idea is that when people are in a challenging but supportive environment, say climbing a mountain, these situations demand greater teamwork, leadership, communication, and trust to succeed.
Outward Bound (OB) Rwanda is inspired by the need for the acceleration of the socio-economic development of Rwanda. Through our programs, people who have lived through conflict and trauma, survivors of genocide and assault, orphans and youths will be encouraged and challenged to begin the process of building relationships of trust, courage, compassion, tolerance, cooperation and determination, to realize their potential as humans, and to develop leadership and character through adventure and challenge in the Outdoors. Qualified supportive instructors facilitate the learning experience.
